Grandma and Grandpa

Today was a very exciting day. I decided to take a trip up to Cornville, AZ (it's right outside Sedona for those of you who haven't been there) and I visited my Grandparents on my bio father's side for the first time. They hadn't seen me since I was 6 months old. They even showed me a picture of me at that visit and it was kinda funny and very sad at the same time. Funny because I was making this horrible face and looking at my dad like I wanted to cry my eyes out....sad because it's been almost 22 years since I've seen them. And obviously I don't remember seeing them when I was 6 months old, so I could this as my first time. You might be curious as to why I haven't seen my grandparents in 22 years...if you know me, you know why. If you don't know me well enough to know why just ask, I don't mind telling you. I just don't feel like typing it all out on here.

Anyways it was a really nice visit. They showed me their house, which I liked a lot. Very clean and bright looking, lots of windows that show all the gorgeous scenery outside and it all seems very relaxing, perfect for retirement! My grandma showed me all of her crafts that she works on, mainly quilts now. She makes quilts for all of the grandchildren in the family and I heard from my brother that they were truely awesome. She is currently working on mine and I got to see the squares while I was there. She's doing the whole thing in red and white stars (white squares with red stars) and each block has a different pattern of red fabric making up the star. I think it's going to be really pretty when it's done. I can't wait! She also has this really amazing collection of Precious Moments statues that I'm now completely in love with. She has a million of them and they are absolutely...well precious!

Other than that we just sat around and talked about stuff. My grandparents are both really funny and very nice. I also got to meet my Uncle Tim who stays with them and he is really nice as well. And even though the drive there from Mesa takes 2 hours, it's a really easy and pretty drive so I'm looking forward to going up there again soon.
